Task Overview:

Now that you’ve engaged the Sample Lesson, its time to design your own lesson for your learners.

This activity gives you the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned and design a meaningful, CAPS-aligned presentation that also responds to the real challenges learners face.

Task: Create a PowerPoint Lesson using the below structure as a guide

Slide: Lesson Title Topic: Social Responsibility and Corporate Citizenship Grade: 12 Business Studies
Slide: Learning Objectives By the end of this lesson, learners should be able to:

  • Define CSR and CSI
  • Explain the Triple Bottom Line
  • Recommend socio-economic strategies
  • Give examples of social responsibility
Slide: Discussion Starter Prompt: “What’s the difference between doing business ethically vs doing business just for profit?”
Slide: What is Social Responsibility? Definition: Acting in ways that benefit society beyond legal requirements.
Slide: Triple Bottom Line Explain 3Ps:• People: fair labour, community• Planet: environment• Profit: sustainable reinvestment
Slide: What is CSR? Define CSR as the broader commitment of business to society.Include components: ethics, governance, health & safety, environment, etc.

Slide: Socio-Economic Issues Introduce key issues: HIV/AIDS, unemployment, poverty
