1.3 Collecting Data

  1. Data collection is the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest, in an established systematic fashion that enables one to answer stated research
    questions, test hypotheses, and evaluate outcomes.
  2. Data is a collection of similar information obtained in different ways of sources.
  3. Examples: observation, interview, surveys and questionnaires could be used to collect the
    data if it is not available.
